The chimney had stood around the half century as an icon of my home town.

Grandma Post

2015 - 2017 London, UK

 

This artwork is to connect between my presenting place, UK and my presented place, Japan by post cards. The based photo, my flat(2016-2017), the my first day to visited at Goldsmiths college(2015-2016). It separates for 40parts (2016-2017), 42parts (2015-2016), which sent a post card to my grandmother in Japan by a week as a mail. She got my flat's large scale image after 40 weeks in 2017 and the image of my first day at Goldsmiths after 42 weeks in 2016.

“As Betty says”

This is a video installation, which blends the element of "Hiniku".
Old TV projects a girl, Betty. She talks her family memory with noise and unclear vision.

“A turtle, three elephants and a serpent” or “The time for tea”

2016 BA Fine Art Extension Degree show, Goldsmiths, London, UK

 

This is a research work about my presenting place, UK. I collected and researched British tea which showed as the earth or like a big tea bag.
The construction of the earth is an Indian mythology studied by a British man. It drips tea from the big hanging tea bag little by little. The tea overflowed a tea cup and saucer which makes stain on the fabric.

It is an installation work to confirm my room in the flat as private space. This work composed by folded drawing papers and found objects, which means their were moved from my presented place.

2014 Fukuoka, Japan

 

It is for researching my home town. It has a lot of “Buraku”, a settlement of people regarded as belonging to the lower class. They are objects of prejudice in Japanese society, so I started a project called Present which aimed to seek more information about "Buraku" in my hometown. I take photographs of settlement houses which is the center of the unprivileged area that provides community services that is symbol of "Buraku" community.

It is a same researching work with "Dark". I took photographs of settlement houses as a symbol of "Buraku" community. In the exhibition, I showed it with articles and booklets, which relates "Buraku".
